Bright Star Farm was founded in 2001, but the land has been in our family every since Louis Henry Tyndall settled here about a century ago in the early 1900s.
We are located on 15 acres of land in Trenton, Jones County, NC. The land was originally granted to the Dillihunt family by King George in 1750 and was later purchased by Louis Henry Tyndall in 1915. The land stayed in the Tyndall-Gray family as a tobacco farm before being turned into a therapeutic center by Louis Tyndall's great-granddaughter, Connie Carlton, in 2002.
In 2000, we moved here from New York to bring the family farm back to life. We started with a couple of dogs and a handful of cats, but we have grown steadily and abundantly since then. Now we're home to a variety of plants and animals.
We're also becoming a popular destination for field trips and other recreational events. We've even hosted a wedding! We hope to keep expanding, and our future plans include a country store, workshops and classes, stable rental facilities, and eventually even cottage rentals.
Keep in touch. There's more info coming soon!
